The Sin of Inaction

This is the story of America. It was born long before it was established as a refuge from religious persecution. The allure was a land where the citizens might worship as they pleased, free from government endorsement of any specific sect such as the Church of England. The first immigrants were not seeking a land with no religion, but one of freedom to worship as one pleased.

To deny that this fact that has marked the United States as a religious refuge to the masses for over two centuries is to deny reality. Muslims today see this as a weakness to be exploited, to be used against us and even with my opposition to the Muslim faith as represented by suicide-bombers and wife-beaters, I am tolerant of their faith and their presence within these borders. We will have to sort good from bad another day, but now, I recognize their rights and desires to practice their religion free from government intervention or oppression. I am not so crazy about the government support they receive under this administration.

We are a Christian nation, even if not everyone in the nation is a Christian. We are Christian because we believe in those values that are important, given to us by God in the Ten Commandments. Our laws are based on those codes of conduct. There are a few truths one might count on in a land of deceivers and manipulators: 1) all rights are inherent to the individual and given to us by God; 2) we have the obligation to secure those rights to our posterity, lest they be destroyed and our children are unable to live in the manner prescribed by God, making them all guilty of our sin.  It is a sin, I believe, to walk away from that obligation, it is a sin much too great to be forgiven, because it enslaves generations. We might be willing to give up our freedom for security, but if rights are God-given, as I believe they are, we sin when we fail to protect them for the following generations.

If you are an American and a Christian and you do not see the obligation to fight to preserve the nation that has set so many at liberty across the globe, that has supported so many poor and disadvantaged across the seas, then I wonder how you can call yourself either. This is not a fight between liberal and conservative, it is a fight between salvation and damnation. No, not your salvation, but the salvation of billions of other souls who look only to the United States for their sustenance both of nourishment and of spirituality. Do your expect China to support the Christian outreach centers in Africa, who drill water wells, who provide medicine for HIV patients, who raise funds and create orphanages, schools and yes, churches? Will Russia do it? France? Spain? Portugal? Is not the suffering of billions enough reason to fight for the engine of salvation: the U.S.?

Our wealth, provided by a relatively free market and capitalism, has spawned our great humanitarian efforts worldwide. That will all end if this nation is allowed to continue in its despotism, its tyranny. The government will be working too hard to suppress the likes of me and so many others, so desperate to control our lives and funnel our production to their ends that all of that will go by the wayside. There will be no "disposable income" it will all be spoken for by the government. There will be no charitable causes greater than survival and paying taxes.

Free health care? For millions of Africans it is supplied by us, with our donations to charitable causes and church tithing, because we have it. When we don't, they won't. Their free health care, provided by us and a few other nations, will disappear and billions will die of AIDS. We will isolate ourselves from the world as China did, as the Soviet Union did. Without God, we are just another selfish, dependent nation breeding feeders, not producers. We are self-centered on what we can get from the government, not what we can provide to other nations.

I plead for the Christians in this country to wake up and understand what you sacrifice when you go to church and fail to see all that is crumbling around you, when you protect your soul and cast all others to fire. It is selfishness, it is unbridled ignorance.

  1. Beautifully said TL. Well said. Sure is the truth of things.

I would like to add something about that faith. Without faith, how can what America is about be believed in? How can the idea of Liberty and Happiness and Prosperity be beloved?
With faith, we can hold on to those cherished ideas, they never become outdated or old fashioned. No. If anything, with faith, those ideas of Liberty mature never ending. Take us to heights of enlightenment and riches beyond the wildest of expectations. There is no limits. Only look to what America has accomplished, in sciences, manufacturing, research and development, how it has helped feed the world, what it's effect has had in creating a better world through Liberty and prosperity.
I believe we as a nation and people have no even begun to reach our potential. But for sure, there are some very evil people who will stop at nothing to destroy this. The very man in the White House is a leader, but not my leader. He is the leader of those who desire in destroying all that is right and beautiful, from our faith, to our wealth, to our foundations of the rule of law, our very Liberty at the most personal level.

There is not any way the founders of our Liberty and freedoms, our rule of law, our republic, could have created what they did without belief in something larger and better, grander, than themselves, ourselves.

For me, this is why all around me, I witness the barbarity and hedonism of the statist march. Elites? Nothing elites about them. They are savages, a horde of self imposed betters who are ignorant and deeply hateful, who revel in ravaging anything good and right and moral they can not sink their feted claws into for their own. For if tyranny is to supplant Liberty, faith and belief in something larger than ourselves must be crushed, destroyed utterly. The elites know very well the existential threat to their rule, power, and wealth, is simply faith. Faith in others, in a higher power, in ones ability, and freedom of Liberty to lift ones boat, to become better than imagined, and to share that wealth and riches. That is prosperity at it's best. The advent of Christianity changed the world. For the first time people had hope, a system of morality, a method to gauge ones place in the world, against both good and evil. Morality, virtue, charity, goodwill, being able to look into ones self and actions and understand each could by their own hand and heart could make the world a little better place.

It must be destroyed! All of it! The elites if they have their way, will take everyone and everything down with them before they will relinquish the power they have garnered over millions who have lost in their hearts this thing called faith and Liberty.
    The Gospel of Liberty.
Not if I have anything to do with it.
    And I do.
Because I have faith, the Gospel of Liberty. It is mine, and I see no reason to ever give it up.

    1. Christianity did not bring hope to mankind, nor did it bring morality, virtue, or honor. Those things existed long before Christians.
Does not matter what god you follow, that belief will not save our country.

Our love for Liberty is the Gospel, and it is the strength in our arms that will preserve it.

      Inaction is to forsake liberty.

    3. If liberty is just a wordand you hold yourself accountable to your God. Than as for fighting, you should do no such thing:

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord (KJV)

      also

Proverbs 28:7 Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.
Proverbs 28:17 A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him (KJV)

As far as fighting against a despotic government

Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief :for that is unprofitable for you. (KJV)

      and

Colossians 3:22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God (KJV)

There is no such thing as "just a word", otherwise the bible becomes "just another book". In these times nothing is to be taken lightly; not your faith, not my religion, nor our liberty.

My love for liberty is the Gospel of Liberty. It is that which I shall fight for, so that my children may come to know and love liberty as I do.
Only through the sweat on my brow and blood on my fists shall it be preserved. There is no other way to safeguard it. The history of our nation proves this.

The Gospel of Liberty is our love for liberty, our desire to live as free men, our willingness to fight for and die for its preservation, it is what we teach our children, our innate desire to live free or die. It is this that tyranny wishes to destroy, it is what keeps tyranny from gaining complete reign over men, it is this Gospel of Liberty that gives men hope.

    4. Lot to be said for what TL wrote. I found it very moving. Great minds think alike, the attribution below a case in point.

Lord Monckton’s reply was moving. Gently, and sadly, he said:
“We shall lose the West unless we can restore the use of reason to pre-eminence in our institutions of what was once learning. It was the age of reason that built the West and made it prosperous and free. The age of reason gave you your great Constitution of liberty. It is the power of reason, the second of the three great powers of the soul in Christian theology, that marks our species out from the rest of the visible creation, and makes us closest to the image and likeness of our Creator. I cannot stand by and let the forces of darkness drive us unprotesting into a new Dark Age.”

I agree with you about the religious tolerance TL, but not when it comes to Islam because I do not believe it is a religion so much as it is a control system. The very things that muslims do to others shatters all concepts of Liberty. I want them all to leave my country along with all the marxists and communists.

  3. Islam is NOT a religion. It is a political system. Plain and simple. That being the case the muslims have no claim to religious protection. I too want them all to leave my country along with all the marxists and communists.
